Metro Denver EDC, Newmark and OEDIT Announce bet365 Opens its U.S. Headquarters in Denver
Denver, CO (September 30, 2024) — The Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (EDC), Newmark, the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) and the Denver Economic Development Opportunity (DEDO) office announce that bet365, a leading global online sports betting company, has opened its new U.S. corporate headquarters in Denver at One Platte, or 1701 Platte Street. The UK-based company expects to bring nearly 1,000 jobs to the Denver community.
“We are thrilled to welcome bet365 and nearly 1,000 jobs to Colorado and congratulate them on the grand opening of their new U.S. headquarters here,” said Colorado Governor Jared Polis. “bet365 will create nearly 1,000 new good-paying jobs and as many as 300 this year that will help Coloradans earn a good living and support their families. We are confident they will quickly find that our great state is the best place to live, work and do business.”
“We are excited to welcome bet365 to its U.S. headquarters’ new home, the Mile High City,” said Denver Mayor Mike Johnston. “bet365 has added 1,000 jobs to our economy and will add even more vibrancy to our downtown city center.”
bet365 anticipates onboarding over 300 employees within the first year of its Denver operations, with approximately 50 employed at the time of the opening. The new headquarters will offer positions across a full suite of services, including customer service operations, trading, software development and technology, with additional openings in marketing, legal, finance, facilities, human resources and recruitment. The decision to locate in Denver was influenced by the city's skilled workforce and its reputation as a hub for innovation and technology.
“Unveiling our U.S. headquarters in beautiful downtown Denver represents a watershed moment in bet365’s North American journey,” said a bet365 spokesperson. “The Mile High City and its thriving business community is the ideal location to launch the next chapter in our company’s future, and we’re excited to create an industry-leading, innovative workplace in our new home.”
The Colorado Economic Development Commission (EDC) approved up to $14,055,942 in a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit over an eight-year period for the company. These incentives are contingent upon bet365, referred to as Project Forge throughout the OEDIT review process, meeting net new job creation and salary requirements. Newmark Executive Managing Director Andrew Blaustein, along with Newmark’s Economic Incentives Advisory team, secured the tax incentives from OEDIT on behalf of bet365.
"We are confident that Colorado’s nation-leading quality of life and culture of innovation will make our state a great home for bet365, and believe this expansion is a win-win, including Colorado workers,” said OEDIT Executive Director Eve Lieberman. “bet365 is committed to creating good-paying jobs and a culture of excellence for their employees.”
"We’re thrilled to welcome bet365 and its U.S. headquarters to Downtown Denver, marking a significant milestone in our region’s economic growth,” said President of the Metro Denver EDC, Raymond H. Gonzales. “This project wouldn’t have been possible without the support and collaboration of OEDIT, the Colorado EDC, the City and County of Denver, and Mayor Mike Johnston's Office. We look forward to the lasting impact this partnership will have on our community, driving both economic opportunity and vibrancy for Denver's downtown for years to come."
bet365 has taken 120,000 square feet at One Platte, occupying two full floors within the five-story, Class A office building nestled between downtown Denver and the vibrant Highlands neighborhood. Prior to opening, the company completed a renovation of the space to support its operational efficiencies and employment goals, creating an environment that reflects its commitment to employee well-being and a vibrant workplace culture.
Newmark’s Blaustein, in collaboration with Knight Frank, represented bet365 in leasing the space. The landlords, Nichols Partnership and Shorenstein, were represented by Newmark Vice Chairman Jamie Gard and Executive Managing Director Jeff Castleton. Gensler served as the architect and designer for the renovation while Task PM led the project management, carrying out bet365’s vision for the new facility.
“Securing bet365’s U.S. headquarters in Denver is a testament to the strength of our collaborative efforts and the appeal of Denver as a leading business destination,” said Blaustein. “By aligning Newmark’s full-service capabilities with the city’s vibrant economic landscape, we were able to identify the perfect location to support bet365’s ambitious growth plans. This project not only brings significant investment and jobs to the area but also reinforces Denver’s position as a key player in the global market.”
bet365 has one additional U.S. office in New Jersey, as well as offices in the UK, Gibraltar, Malta, Australia, Colombia and Bulgaria.
